Principal's Message:

I am really delighted to highlight that the Upasam Nursing Academy is a unique Nursing Institute, established in the year 2021, is affiliated to West Bengal Nursing Council, Kolkata, and is recognized by Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi. The Nursing programmes focus on equipping and channelizing the knowledge, attitude, skills and potentials of the students effectively and efficiently to provide quality health care. To be a great Nurse, you must not only have to be very well qualified professionally but also have the right positive attitude. Besides the Institute’s own hospital (Upasam Hospital), students are also provided exposure in state-run hospitals. The college places more emphasis on hands-on training, as these students will be dealing with human lives later. The college provides qualified and experienced faculty and specialized external lecturers to impart quality education in developing skills and facilitate them for quality practice. Due to rapid change in health environment and expectations for health care consumers Nursing profession has also undergone tremendous changes.

As Nursing education is a key to development of excellence in Nursing practice. The Nursing students need to be prepared in such a way that they gain clinical expertise, technical management skills and cultural competence to cope with increasing complexity of life, legal and ethical orientation, converging theory and practice, professional assertiveness, communication skills, evaluation of care and research. These students have been trained under the care of qualified and experienced faculty. They have been provided with the best possible classroom and clinical exposures. We are committed to inculcate strong moral and ethical values in our students which are essential for a nurse. We strongly believe that the Nursing students are responsible and accountable for qualify Nursing practice thus they need to be appropriately trained, oriented and directly supervised.
